Last of the Christmas Bears!

Meet the last two Christmas bears for this year, Balanchine and Belsnickle.
Balanchine is the little chocolate brown bear and Belsnickle is the little gray bear. Both bears would make great stocking stuffers for someone. Fa-la-la-la and Merry Christmas to you all!

Frasier

Meet Frasier, named for the famous fir trees of this happy season. He is a 4 inch teddy all decked out for the holidays. His mohair was hand-dyed a Christmas green and he wears a Christmas red silk satin ribbon and rusty jingle bell. Frasier has a sweet and humble expression. He will make a wonderful stocking stuffer for someone.

Winterberry

Meet Winterberry! This is one happy little chap! He has a great big smile. He is looking forward to Christmas. He was hand-dyed mint green and wears a wintergreen silk satin ribbon and a rusty jingle bell. He has a tattered nose for primitive appeal and a traditional hump on his back. Winterberry is looking for a special place to call home for the holidays. He can be adopted now on eBay.

Mistletoe

Meet Mistletoe! He is my smallest bear ever...only 3.5 inches. He will make a wonderful stocking stuffer for someone.

Candycane

Meet Candycane, the red and white panda bear! His red mohair was hand-dyed using Rit dye in Scarlet. He has a hefty weight for one so small, just 3.75 inches. Candycane has a tattered nose for a primitive appearance. His silk satin ribbon is wintergreen, a nice green and white striped. He wears a rusty jingle bell. Candycane would make a wonderful stocking stuffer for someone. He is now on auction at eBay for the next 5 days.

Jingle All The Way!

Meet Jingle, the little red bear shown posed with Merry, his favorite gal! Jingle was hand-dyed scarlet red. He wears a Christmas green silk satin ribbon and a rusty jingle bell. Both Merry and Jingle have brand new head patterns. They both turned out so cute. Both are looking to be adopted on eBay.

The Holidays are Upon Us!

Meet Merry, my latest holiday bear. She wears a Christmas red silk satin ribbon and a red rose bow in her hair. She has a worn tattered nose for that primitive look and a traditional hump on her back. This little cutie did wonderful with her photoshoot. You can view all the other pics on eBay. I'm hoping this little gal will find a wonderful home in time for Christmas. :)

Henry

Meet Henry, another 3.75 inch bear from Burlison Bears. This bear is really special as he is a brand-new pattern of mine. I'm trying to go for a Steiff-like appearance. He has a worn and tattered nose for a primitive look. He has a prominent hump on his back for that traditional look. He wears a rusty bucket ribbon and a rusty jingle bell. He is loosely stuffed like an antique. I'm really happy with his face. He has a very "bearish" look to him. He did a wonderful photoshoot for me, and he is currently on eBay, waiting to be adopted by that special someone.

Gulliver

Meet Gulliver, a beautiful teal blue bear! He is a new pattern and he has a worn and tattered nose for a primitive look. He wears a dark sapphire ribbon and a rusty jingle bell. He is on eBay now, waiting to be adopted.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Meet my newest bear, Pilgrim, a Thanksgiving bear! He has golden mohair and wears a willow green ribbon with a rusty jingle bell. He has a worn and tattered nose for that primitive look. He looks similar to a miniature Steiff bear. I'm very happy with how he turned out. He comes with his own Thanksgiving harvest pumpkin. Happy Early Thanksgiving!

Jack Hallow

Meet Jack Hallow, all ready for All Hallow's Eve. He is sporting an orange ribbon and a black and orange primitive felt party hat. His little trick-or-treat pumpkin contains tiny fake candy inside. Jack is the last Halloween bear I've made for this year. To all of you out there: Have a Happy Halloween!

Meet Witch Willow, just in time for Halloween! I hand-dyed her mohair a hot pink. She turned out better than my expectations. She wears a raven silk satin ribbon and a black felt primitive witch hat with slits for the ears! She's ready for trick-or-treating!

Noah

This little fellow is named Noah. His facial expression turned out perfect with his little round nose. Noah is made from golden mohair and he wears a turquoise bow round the neck. This little one is good at posing for pictures.

Blue Moon

This is Blue Moon. He was hand-dyed a lovely turquoise blue. The photos show him as a light baby blue, but in reality he is much more turquoise. He has a relaxed look about him and a solemn expression. He wears a sunny yellow ribbon round his neck.

Pongo

Pongo is a perfect little panda at just 3.75 inches. His mohair is a dense white and black. He has a cute wee little nose and great overall expression. He wears a silk satin ribbon called Blue Rice.

Skyrocket

Skyrocket is a little sweetie. He was hand dyed a rich jade green. His mohair is a lot darker in person than his photos show. He has a round bearish face and a worn nose and he wears a silk satin ribbon called Wintergreen.

Rusty

Rusty is hand dyed a rust red with a dark brown backing. He features a long snout and a tiny waxed nose. He wears a silk satin ribbon called Stormy Monday. As with all my recent bears he is just 3.75 inches tall.

Blog Update

For those of you who have just discovered my blog I'd like to take the time to welcome you and explain what I do. My occupation is teddy bear artist. And yes, that is a real occupation! There is a whole world of artist teddy bears out there to be discovered. I encourage you to take a look at the other bear blogs I have listed so you can see the many different styles of artist teddy bears.

I make miniature mohair bears, exclusively. These tiny ones are typically less than 4 inches tall. Each bear is lovingly created with Old World components such as genuine German mohair, wool felt paw pads, cotterpin joints, perle cotton, glass eyes, excelsior and steel shot (for weight). My bears typically wear silk satin bows or rusty jingle bells. Each bear I make is one of a kind. No two are ever alike. I usually make traditional style bears because I love the look of the old Steiff bears of the early 1900s.

All of my bears are sold in auction format through eBay. I don't do commissions. I typically have at least 3 auctions going at the same time. It's real easy to find my bears. Just plug in Burlison Bears in the search engine on eBay and it will bring you right to them.

Here is little Koda, a fuzzy gray mohair bear with a darker backing. He wears a pale blue silk satin bow. He has such a cute baby face, and he is only 3.75 inches tall. He can be adopted through eBay.

Pinky

Meet Pinky, a loveable pale pink mohair bear with a tattered nose. She is lightly distressed for an old appearance. She wears a rose silk satin ribbon. She is now listed on eBay.

Fourth of July!

Meet my latest bears...celebrating the Fourth of July! The red bear is Firecracker, and he was hand-dyed. He wears a sapphire silk satin bow to match the color of his paw pads.

Liberty is all white and wears a red, white, and blue ribbon.

Rocket is quite unusual. He has white and blue mohair and red paw pads.

Amerigo is a traditional brown bear, sporting a ruby red ribbon.

Cookie is a sweet baby faced teddy bear. He is made from old ivory mohair with a dark backing. His silk satin bow is antique ivory. This bear has a wonderful expression. I really love the way he turned out. He can currently be adopted through eBay.

Aibileen is made from antique peach mohair. She has a long snout for a very "bearish" appearance.

Kingsley is made from taupe mohair.

Hamilton is made from a deep gold mohair.

Magellan

Meet Magellan, a world traveler. He wears a paper hat made from an old map. I just love the way he turned out. His furry mohair is a warm apricot color.

Thomas

Thomas is a funny little bear with a "pissed off" expression. I'm not sure how he turned out that way, but I think he's pretty cute!

Old Glory

Meet Old Glory. He was hand dyed a royal blue. He is all decked out for Independence Day and carries a tiny American flag.

Josiah

Meet Josiah, my latest miniature. He stands at just almost 4 inches. His mohair is hand-dyed a rust red color. He turned out quite lovely.

Christopher

This is Christopher! He is made from a sparse old gold mohair. He has a very traditional look. This little sweetheart is available on eBay.

Malachi

Meet Malachi. He is a wee 3.75 inches, made from a dense sky blue mohair. He has been distressed/stained for an antique appearance. Even his little nose is tattered and worn.

Abraham

Abraham is made from a dense rust mohair. He features a long snout, long arms, big feet, a traditional hump on his back, and a stubby tail. He wears a silk satin bow called Blue Rice, and he wears a rusty jingle bell. Abraham is currently on eBay looking for a home.

Crayola

Crayola is a colorful bear made from a dense fuscia mohair, hand dyed. Her silk satin bow is kaleidoscope. Crayola is currently looking for a home on eBay.

New Style

Meet Penny the Panda, Baxter the gray bear, and Tubby the apricot bear. These are a new style of miniatures. They are all 3.75 inches and they each feature a circular nose on the very tip of their snout. I'm very pleased with how they turned out. They are all currently on eBay.

Two New Little Ones

Meet Juniper and Benjamin! Juniper was hand dyed a jade green color and Benjamin is a pale baby blue. Both bears wear silk satin bows. And Benjamin wears a primitive felt party hat. These bears are ready for their forever homes and can be adopted now on eBay.

Here are a few of my latest bears...Fuzzy Wuzzy is the one with the green bow, Ruby is the one with the red bow and rose in her hair, Blossom is the one with the blue bow and flower in her hair, Skipper is the white bear, and Snicker is the itty bitty fellow with the black bow.

Austin

Austin is my latest sweet little bear. His head tilts upward, giving him a nice expression. He is currently looking for a home on eBay.

Brrrr.....

It's been frosty days here lately and so Klondike was born. He's a funny little polar bear teddy, and he will warm your heart even in the snow!

Winterberry

Winterberry is one of my new favorites. I hand dyed his fur jade green. He really turned out splendid. His photos don't do him justice though. He looks a lot cuter in person. I just listed him on eBay. Thanks for looking.
